We develop, build and operate renewable electricity generation projects. Through our subsidiary, Enérgya, we are supplying electricity and natural gas to end consumers, as well as representing independent power producers in the energy market.

Recognising a real need, the company has grown since its inception and is exclusively oriented towards renewable, inexhaustible technologies and sources that do not emit greenhouse gases or pollutants. Our main objective is minimising environmental impacts and

promoting the fight against climate change by reducing the carbon footprint. After the successful asset rotation operation carried out in 2022, MOWE ENERGÍA has continued developing renewable energy projects in Spain in all their phases, as well as acquiring new renewable generation assets and restructuring distressed assets.

Founded in 2007, MOWE has a proven track record. MOWE, together with our main subsidiary Enérgya, forms a vertically integrated platform throughout the energy value cycle by supplying energy and natural gas to the end consumer, as well as representing independent power producers in the market.

    Founding of Villar Mir Energía, 100% owned by Grupo Villar Mir.
  2. 2010
    Acquisition of the Spanish subsidiary of the British energy company Centrica (currently Enérgya VM).
  3. 2012
    Analysis of a natural gas regasification project in the province of Huelva.
  4. 2015
    Development and construction of three hydroelectric power plants in Galicia.
  5. 2017
    Acquisition and restructuring of the wind farms of Porto do Son and Pobra do Caramiñal that were in bankruptcy.
  6. 2018
    The Valiente Wind Farm, designed, developed and built by Villar Mir Energía, begins commercial operations.
  7. 2020
    Entry into operation of the Sotillo and Tablares wind farms, designed, developed and built by Villar Mir Energía.
  8. 2022
    Successful divestment of greenfield and brownfield renewable assets creating value for the stockholders. Villar Mir Energía maintains a portfolio of 677 MW of renewable energy (hydroelectric, solar and wind).
  9. 2024
    Between 2023 and 2024 Villar Mir Energía expanded its portfolio with more than 600 MW with a granted access point.
  10. 2025
    Villar Mir Energía changes its company name to MOWE ENERGÍA, marking the beginning of a new era with multiple challenges.
